Bel Air Auto Auction Expands with Opening of New Marshalling Facility

BSC America has announced the opening of a new Marshalling Facility located in Belcamp, Maryland. The new location is 11 miles from the auction's main campus and encompasses 14 paved and fenced acres. The facility also includes three offices and five bays and will accommodate 2500 vehicles.

According to BSCAmerica's Vice President of Fleet/Lease & Remarketing, Cynthia Mitchell, Bel Air Auto Auction had previously provided marshalling services for PHH and GSA at its main facility, but a recent upswing in volume necessitated the acquisition of the Riverside property.

"With a full staff and 24/7 security at the Riverside facility, we can continue to offer top-notch service to our marshalling accounts," said Mitchell, noting that the auction recently added a region for GSA, more than doubling the volume of marshalled units.

"All new cars are now dropped by the manufacturers directly at the new Marshalling Center, where a dedicated staff prepares them for delivery to their customers," Mitchell explains. "Used cars for these accounts, in turn, are processed and taken to the main facility at Bel Air Auto Auction for sale."

The addition of the Riverside facility is the latest in a series of expansion projects to accommodate the growth at Bel Air Auto Auction. Last spring, Bel Air Auto Auction's Specialty Sale division opened its new Clayton Station Building, which now houses the weekly Salvage/Inop sale, the monthly Powersports Sale and monthly Truck and Equipment Sale.

Owned by the Nichols Family, Bel Air Auto Auction manages the flow of more than 75,000 vehicles a year, handling consignments from new and used car dealers and private business fleets, as well as those from public service and government agencies. Bel Air Auto Auction sells on seven auction lanes every Thursday, including the damaged vehicle sale, and holds a closed sale for General Motors every other Wednesday. The auction also holds a public auction weekly on Thursdays.

Strategically located just 17 miles from Baltimore and 80 miles from Philadelphia, Bel Air Auto Auction provides a wide range of auto-related services, including floorplanning, storage, transportation, internet sales, full reconditioning and certification. The auction is a member of the ServNet Auction group.
