Prepare for Civil War at Brasher's Cascade Auction
Football
fever has swept the auction arena at Brasher’s Cascade Auto
Auction. At each sale between October 23 and November 20, every
customer attending the auction will have the opportunity to “Play
Civil War, Pick the Score”. The dealer who comes closest to the
actual score of this year’s Civil War battle between the Oregon
State Beavers and the
University
of
Oregon Ducks
will win an entertainment package that includes a 46” Samsung HD
plasma TV and a LazyBoy recliner.
Also on November 20, all buyers and sellers will be eligible
to win tickets to the Civil War Game, which will be played this year
at
Oregon
’s State’s Reser Stadium in
Corvalis
,
Oregon
on November 29th..
Auction General Manager Jerry Hinton reports
that more than 1,400 vehicles will be included in the auction’s
Civil War Sale on November 20, including consignments from VW
Credit, Audi Financial Services, Wachovia Dealer Services, OnPoint
Community Credit Union, Reliable Credit, Drive Servicing and many
more. Continuing the
football theme, the auction will also hold a tailgate party barbecue
at 10:00 am on sale day.
The Civil War is the seventh-oldest college
football rivalry in the
U.S.
First played in 1894,
it has pitted the Ducks against the Beavers 111 times.
The
University
of
Oregon
holds the series lead of 55-46-10.
“This year’s Civil War promises to be an
especially exciting game, one that the dealers are already talking
about,” said Hinton. He
explained that from 1997 through 2006 the winner of the game was the
home team; last year, however,
Oregon
State
beat the
University
of
Oregon
in
Eugene
in double overtime, with a score of 38-31.
“In a rivalry like this, anything can happen.
We’re looking forward to the game, and anticipate an
exciting sale to go along with it at Cascade Auto Auction on
November 20th.”
