Rock & Roll Sale Headliner Announced
DAA Northwest Attracts National Attention with Awards,
New Accounts, Full Promo Schedule
DAA
Northwest continues to capture the attention of auction buyers and
sellers throughout the country as it adds awards to its trophy case,
brings in new institutional consignors and creates excitement with
innovative promotions.
DAA
Northwest was recently honored by Bank of America as its 2007
Auction of the Year for the Western Region.
The announcement was made in March at the Conference of Auto
Remarketing Las Vegas. DAA
Northwest is one of 24 auctions which handles vehicles for Bank of
America nationwide, and one of only nine named Auction of the Year
by the remarketer.
"The
nine auctions we've chosen as our 2007 Auctions of the Year
represent the very highest levels of achievement in aiding our
remarketing efforts during 2007," remarketing executive Steve
Piccinati commented. "They were the best at the combination of
asset value earned, consistently superior customer service,
operational excellence and Internet sales effectiveness," he
added.
Bank
of America’s was the second award the auction has received from a
national consignor for superior performance in 2007.
DAA Northwest was recently named the 2007 Black Book Recovery
Leader in the W estern Region by HSBC. DAA has also topped the
remarketing charts for Harley-Davison Financial Services, earning a
#1 national retention ranking for the fourth quarter of 2007.
Bob
McConkey, DAA’s president, reports that buyers are finding a
number of new national consignors at DAA Northwest’s eight-lane
facility in
Spokane,
Washington. GMAC and AmeriCredit
were added to the auction’s sale line-up at the beginning of year,
and Hyundai Financial will soon hold its inaugural sale at DAA
Northwest.
“We
are committed to delivering ‘performance that counts’ at DAA
Northwest,” said McConkey. “To
meet that goal, we have to provide a level of service that brings
buyers and sellers back to the lane week after week, an effort that
requires unceasing attention to detail on the part of every
department and every member of the auction staff.”
An
innovative promotional schedule also lends excitement and interest
to sale day at DAA Northwest. A number of events throughout the
year, which bring music, NASCAR racing, collector cars, even
barbecued moose to the auction, provide motivation for attendance as
well as incentives for buying and selling activity.
DAA
Northwest’s biggest promotion of the year is its annual Rock &
Roll Sale, a two event held every July.
DAA general manager and senior vice president, Greg Mahugh
has just announced its headline act for the 2008 Rock & Roll
Sale. On Wednesday evening, July 16th, Jakob Dylan and The
Wallflowers will take the DAA Stage and perform for over 4,000
customers and their guests. The Wallflowers follow a long line of
internationally acclaimed acts at DAA, including The Doobie
Brothers, STYX, Huey Lewis and The News and Bad Company, to name a
few.
This
summer’s concert and party will come on the heels of a 1,000-unit
offering that includes several key national accounts. Ford Motor
Company will begin the auction Wednesday with a closed factory sale.
Thursday morning, customers will return to DAA for 3,500 units
running through ten lanes. The sale will conclude with fifty
thousand dollars in prizes.
Industry
veterans Bob McConkey, Jr. and Greg Mahugh founded DAA Northwest in
1992. Since its inception, the auction has become the
Pacific Northwest
’s premier vehicle remarketing operation, offering a full range of
services including reconditioning, inspections, wholesale
automotive, motorsport, RV and Internet auctions. The DAA campus
sits on 90 acres and is a member of the National Auto Auction
Association, the AuctionPipeline and the ServNet Auction Group.
