Flint Auto Auction
"Beefs Up" Avis/Budget Sale
It's
not every day that a dealer can visit with a cow in the auction arena,
but on August 5th, a cow mingled with customers to introduce a special
promotion for Avis/Budget Group. Called "Beefing It Up", the
promotion focused dealers' attention on a 300-unit consignment from
Avis/Budget group, which ran in a lane decorated with straw and
colorful balloons. For every Avis/Budget unit purchased, the buying
dealer's name was entered into the sale-end drawing for a 7 cubic foot
GE freezer filled with $750 worth of beef.
"We
had a lot of fun with this promotion, which proved the right fit for
the market, and perfect for a hot summer's day at Flint Auto
Auction," said auction general manager Lawrence Cubitt. "Our
'cow' roamed the auction arena giving away cinnamon rolls and ice
cream to rejuvenate the dealers, and a great selection of vehicles,
combined with the chance of winning a freezer full of beef, kept
dealers in the lane and bidding, resulting in a 64% sale for
Avis/Budget!"
Long-time
customer Matt Krimmel of Marshall, Michigan was the winner of the
freezer and the beef. A "regular" in the Avis/Budget lane,
Krimmel buys for 12 dealers in the region, and has been attending the
sale at Flint Auto Auction for the past 15 years.
"Flint
Auto Auction is a great place to do business," said Krimmel.
"The owners, the managers and the staff work really hard to keep
their customers happy, and the auction always has an excellent supply
of vehicles, which isn't something you can find everywhere in today's
market."
"I
buy frequently in the Avis/Budget lane at Flint, and this week winning
the freezer and the beef was a terrific bonus!" Krimmel
continued. "I've already fired up the barbecue and grilled some -
it was a big hit with my wife and kids!"
Avis/
Budget sells every week at Flint Auto Auction, with an average
