Flint Auto Auction Celebrates
55th Anniversary with Two New Accounts
Flint
Auto Auction marked its 55th Anniversary on June 11, showcasing two
new national accounts at a sale that included more than 1,900
vehicles. The auction welcomed more than 1,000 dealerships to the event,
which featured vehicles from HSBC and Chrysler Financial, Flint's
newest national consignors, along with AVIS/Budget Group, Enterprise,
GMAC and Remarketing Solutions/Peak 5.
Auction
principal Bill Williams reports that HSBC held its inaugural sale at
Flint Auto Auction on May 14, selling 85% of the 114 units offered,
and followed up with a 95% sale on June 11. HSBC buyers at both the
May 14 and June 11 sales qualified for a drawing for tickets to the
Lifelock 400, Sprint Cup Series held at the Michigan Speedway on
Father's Day Weekend.
June
11 also marked the premiere of Chrysler Financial at Flint Auto
Auction with more than 200 units. Chrysler Financial will run every
other week at Flint Auto Auction, and, through the sale on July 23,
all Chrysler Fina ncial
buyers will qualify for a drawing for a Rolex watch. The auction is also
offering transport assistance for buyers of two or more Chrysler units
at each sale through the 23rd.
"HSBC
and Chrysler Financial are tremendous additions to our sale-day
lineup," said John Luce, Flint Auto Auction's co-owner. "We've been known in the industry
for our low-mileage, late-model strength, particularly with GM
products, but we recognize the importance of balancing our vehicle
inventory offering with auto finance accounts to compliment our
strength with the GM nameplates. The excitement is high among the
dealers bidding on these vehicles, proving that we have established a
dealer base for a broad spectrum of vehicles at Flint Auto
Auction."
Williams
and Luce are the third generation
owners of the Flint Auto Auction which ran 120 vehicles at its first
sale in 1953. Today, the auction averages more than 1,500 vehicles at
its weekly Wednesday consignment sale. Flint Auto Auction also holds a
GM Sponsored closed factory auction every other week on Wednesday,
offering an average of 400 vehicles per sale and welcoming 250 GM
dealers, who buy both in the lane and online. Flint was named the #1
auction in the country for General Motors in 2007.
A
member of ServNet, Flint Auto Auction operates under the Auction
Pipeline technology platform which delivers live auction lane bidding
online and provides market reports of auction sale results and
