Support of Industry Conferences Continues in '09
The
ServNet Auction group continues
its strong and active support of industry activities in 2009.
ServNet CEO Pierre Pons reports that the first two industry
conferences of the year are major items on the auction group's
calendar, drawing attendance by ServNet's officers and auction
owners.
"We
feel that active, engaged participation in events sponsored by
members of the remarketing industry is critical to the overall
health of our business," said Pons. "These forums provide
valuable opportunities to meet with customers and colleagues, not
just to strengthen relationships, but to work together to meet the
challenges of current market conditions and plan for the future of our
industry."
Ten
ServNet owners and representatives attended the NADA Convention in
New Orleans in January.
"While
attendance by dealers and exhibitors at NADA seemed lower this year
than in years past, ServNet was active in meeting with Kelly Blue
Book, Black Book and key national accounts, including GMAC and
American Honda Finance," said Pons. "These meetings were
prime opportunities for us to assess the current market with some of
the industry's major players, and to talk over strategies for the
weeks and months ahead."
Pons
reports that ServNet will also have strong representation at the CAR
conference, set for February in Las Vegas. ServNet will sponsor the
keynote speakers at the event, and will host a dinner event for a
number of national accounts on Wednesday, February 25 at Joe's Stone
Crab in the Caesar's Forum Shops.
"We
were delighted to have the opportunity to sponsor the keynote
speakers this year, particularly since the roster includes Mark
Matthews of General Motors," said Pons. "With four of the
six independent facilities selling for GM being ServNet auctions, we
value our association with General Motors. We're particularly proud
to note that ServNet auctions are among GM's top performers, notably
Flint Auto Auction, which was named GM's top auction last year, and
State Line Auto Auction which won GM's 2007 award for Operational
Excellence."
