Auto Auction Builds New Facility on 71 Acres
KANSAS CITY
,
Missouri
-- Kansas Auto Auction has announced that construction has begun on
an all-new facility. Located
40 miles south of its current location in
Elwood
,
Kansas
, the new auction is sited just off Interstate 29, five minutes from
the
Kansas City
Airport
. Situated on 71 acres, the new facility will include a 20,000
square foot building housing business offices and five auction lanes
in the arena.

Construction
was started in October of last year, and auction officials are
projecting a completion date in June of 2008.
Phase II of the construction will include a state-of-the-art
recon facility, which will begin in late 2008.
“The
time is right for a move,” said auction owner Doug Doll.
“We’ve operated out of our current location for nearly 29
years, and to say we’ve outgrown the space is an understatement.
In just the past three years our consignment has increased 25%, our
weekly attendance is up more than 10%, and our units sold have jumped 20%. We’re bursting
at the seams, and we’re all looking forward to welcoming our
customers to our beautiful new home in the spring.”
The
address for the new facility is 11101 North Congress,
Kansas City, Missouri. Because it is moving across the river to a new state, it will also
change its name to Kansas City Independent Auto Auction.
