KCI Auto Auction
Shows Off New Facility
with Special Sales
Kansas
City Independent Auto Auction has hosted a series of special events
to welcome customers to its all-new facility which opened in
July.
After
years of planning, Kansas City Independent Auto Auction (KCI)
unveiled its all-new facility, welcoming more than 500 dealers to
its inaugural sale on Thursday, July 31. The auction, which has been
doing business as the Kansas Auto Auction in Elwood, Kansas, opened
40 miles from the site where it had been operating since 1978. The
new facility includes a 20,000 square foot building housing business
offices, six auction lanes in the selling arena, a full service
restaurant, on-site PDR, and parking for more then 1500
vehicles.
The
auction's official grand opening was held on Thursday, September 18
with a record-setting consignment of more than 1,000 vehicles (more
than double the average consignment at the auction's old location),
including 75 units from Suzuki, and posting a 60% overall sale. As
part of the day's activities, the
auction awarded more than $10,000 in cash and prizes.
KCI
followed its Grand Opening event with its first annual "Nascar
Days" on September 25th. In addition to its regular
consignment, the auction featured more than 100 units from KIA
Motors, represented by Gino Greco. Free food was served to all
dealers attending the sale, and every buyer qualified for the grand
prize drawing for tickets to the Nascar Races at nearby Kansas
Raceway, which took place the following weekend..
On
October 15th and 16th, KCI showed off its new facility during its
4th annual "Rocktoberfest", a two-day event that
included live entertainment and a 1000+ unit sale. On Wednesday
evening, the auction opened its doors to more than 700 customers who
were treated to tours of the new facility, enjoyed
dinner on the house and rocked the night away with the KCI staff as they
were entertained by "Chute Nine", a high-energy country
band that kept toes tapping and
hands clapping all evening.
On
Thursday, the sale brought 500 buyers through the door to bid on a
varied consignment that included vehicles from Triad, Westlake
Financial, ARI, Boeing Wichita
Credit Union, Suzuki, Community America Credit Union, Fireside Bank
and more. To include the two-day event, drawings were held for
$10,000 in cash and prizes.
Kansas
City Independent Auto Auction's new facility is situated on 71
acres, just off Interstate 29 and five minutes from the Kansas City
Airport. The auction holds a dealer consignment sale every
Thursday.
Kansas
City Independent Auto Auction operates under the Auction Pipeline
technology platform which delivers live auction lane bidding online
and provides market reports of auction sale results and available
inventory while allowing dealers to source vehicles from more than
20 Independent Auto Auctions nationwide. KCI is also a member of the
