ServNet Offers up to $20,000 in Scholarships in 2019

ServNet has announced the opening of its 2019 Scholarship Program, designed to help ServNet auction employees and their families pursue the dream of higher education. The ServNet Scholarship program assists full-time ServNet auction employees, their children, stepchildren and grandchildren who plan to pursue education in college or vocational school programs.

Up to 10 awards totaling $20,000 are available for aspiring undergraduate students in 2019. The awards will be given in increments of five awards of $2,500 to students attending a four-year college or university, and five awards of $1,500 for students attending a two-year college or are pursuing an auto-related degree at a vocational-technical school.

"ServNet has for many years lent its support to higher education for members of the auction industry," said Ryan Clark, owner of Greater Rockford Auto Auction and a member of ServNet's Board of Directors, overseeing the Scholarship Program. "ServNet's efforts were focused initially in support of the NAAA's Warren Young Scholarship Program in the early 2000's," said Clark. "But we decided as a group that we wanted to broaden our support for training and education by offering scholarships each year to the sons and daughters of employees of ServNet auctions, and launched our own program in 2016."

"As the leaders of of family-owned businesses ourselves, we ServNet owners take a deep personal interest in our employees," explained Clark. "ServNet's scholarship program is a great way for us to encourage the members of our auction families and to help lay the groundwork for the next generation that follows."

Toyota Financial Services and State Line Auto Auction Team Up in Support of Local Charity

On December 14th, Toyota/Lexus Financial Services (TFS) and State Line Auto Auction presented a check to The Bridge of the Penn-York Valley Churches for $10,000. The check was presented by Bob Brooks, TFS Regional Remarketing Manager-Eastern Region. TFS donated $20 per vehicle sold during its sales between October 22nd and December 3rd. State Line Auto Auction then matched the proceeds donated by TFS.

The Bridge is a non-profit organization of churches in the Penn-York Valley, that serves residents of Waverly, NY and Sayre and Athens, PA. The organization's goal is to bridge the gaps of life and provide help to local citizens when and where other agencies are not available. Its is not to duplicate assistance, but to provide financial and spiritual support in times of crisis and emergency. Nearly 30 churches and their associated clergy support The Bridge via numerous programs. The programs include:

  • Catastrophic Assistance for those in crisis situations like natural   disasters, fires, and domestic abuse 

  • The Clothes Closet - provides gently used toys, books, household items and clothing. 

  • Kids at Risk - coordinates with local school districts to anonymously help children in need. 

  •  Helping Hands - a ministry for those in need of furniture  The Valley Food Pantry -  open on weekdays to provide food items for those who need help.

"It is vitally important that we know where our donation money is going, to be assured that all the money is utilized to help those in our local area. The Bridge does a fantastic job with outreach, and assisting those in immediate need of support.  We are proud to have TFS as a customer and truly appreciate their mindset for charitable giving."


DAA/OKC Sells 35,000th Vehicle for Santander/Chrysler Capital

Wednesday, January 10, 2019 was a red-letter day for Dealers Auto Auction of Oklahoma City (DAA/OKC), when it marked the sale of the 35,000th vehicle for Santander Consumer USA/Chrysler Capital. The 2014 Dodge Challenger, with 74,476 miles, was purchased by John Miller of Express Credit Auto. This event topped an exceptional sale, featuring 976 units consigned and 516 sold.

DAA/OKC has been handling the sale of vehicles for Santander Consumer USA/Chrysler Capital for almost 9 years, reports DAA/OKC General Manager Bruce Beam. The auction runs an average of 175 vehicles weekly for Santander Consumer USA/ Chrysler Capital in its C lane at 9:30 am.

"Since their debut at DAA/OKC almost 9 years ago, dealers have been eager to add Santander Consumer USA/Chrysler Capital vehicles to their inventory, and have steadily purchased more than 90% of the vehicles offered every week. With a ready market and enthusiastic buyers in the lane, we are looking forward to selling another 35,000 vehicles for Santander Consumer USA/Chrysler Capital. Beam notes that to celebrate the sale of the 35,000th vehicle for Santander Consumer USA/Chrysler Capital, the auction awarded a special prize package to the purchasing dealer: a Las Vegas Travel Package that includes airfare for two, three nights in a hotel on the Las Vegas strip and $500 in cash.

Beam also reports that DAA/OKC finished 2018 on a high note, as the auction's dealers joined with its employees to reach out to the less fortunate in the community. For the second year in a row, DAA/OKC collected food in December, ultimately delivering more than 400 food items to the Food Bank of Oklahoma City just before Christmas. Concurrently, the auction also held a toy drive to benefit with local YWCA's shelter for battered women and children. As an added incentive, the auction offered every dealer donating a toy during December a chance to win tickets to the Oklahoma University/Alabama matchup on December 29th. Winning a chance to root for the hometown favorite was Jim Leonard of Lumpy's Auto Sales.


FastLane Auto Exchange Named Top Independent Auction for OVE in 2018

FastLane Auto Exchange added a new feather to its cap in the final quarter of 2018 by winning first place amongst independent auctions for sales on OVE. In 2018 FastLane introduced FastLane Live which posts online units to three platforms simultaneously giving dealers the best chance to do what they do best – buy and sell. Congratulations to Tina Swickard, FastLane’s Upstream Sales Coordinator for all her effort in 2018.

In addition to taking first place in OVE sales for the final quarterof 2018, FastLane is in the process of paving an additional 5 acres to make sure that 2019 is even better.

Located just north of Flint Michigan in Mount Morris, FastLane Auto Exchange has been in operation since 1978, and was purchased by a group led by Greg Price in January of 2017. Under Price’s leadership, the auction has undergone a staggering transformation, expanding in less than 2 years from an evening sale running 100+ vehicles a week on one lane to a Wednesday afternoon auction featuring 700+ vehicles on 8 lanes.


Carolina Auto Auction Plans Price is Right Promotion

The Stanley Autenrieth Auction Group is having special Price is Right Sales that kick off January 9th and runs through Valentine's Day. Carolina Auto Auction joins its sister auction, Indiana Auto Auction, in the event which will have a combined total of $75,000 in cash and prizes. The exciting sales event will provide dealers with large selections of vehicles to stock their lots with as the rush of the tax-time buying season begins to heat up.

Each morning dealers will have a chance to compete in Price is Right style for cash, and big money will on the line every afternoon after the sale's end.

The Stanley Autenrieth Auction Group reports that both Carolina and Indiana Auto Auctions had strong sales years in 2018. Carolina Auto Auction had its best year in over a decade with strong inventory from both commercial and independent consignors. Both auctions look to have very strong sales activity in 2019.

The Price is Right Sale is the first of many promotions geared to increase dealer traffic in the lanes and online.


Akron Auto Auction Looks Forward to Exciting 2019, Annual Tailgate Tuesday Sale

Like Northeast Ohio's beloved Professional football team, the Cleveland Browns, Akron Auto Auction (AAA) has begun the new year with a plethora of changes and heightened optimism.

First and foremost, Akron's President and Owner Chad Bailey has begun his term as the President of the National Auto Auction Association (NAAA). Although balancing duties as both NAAA and AAA President is no short order, Mr. Bailey is more than up for the challenge. His confidence in his home auction staff allows him to travel the country to share his expertise, knowledge, and enthusiasm with other members of the auction community.

2019 is also poised to be a memorable year for Akron Auto Auction in terms of newly-opened facilities and lot restructuring. With a brand-new Fleet Lease and Repossession Center being completed November of 2018, employees are settling in to their new office locations and familiarizing themselves and their customers with the expanded lot space. A new sale day "playbook" is in the works with new parking, lane organization, security and safety procedures.

Akron Auto Auction is off to a fast start in 2019 with three big sales already on the books, and excitement is growing for its annual Tailgate Tuesday Sale, set for the last sale day before the Super Bowl. Customers and employees will be encouraged to wear their favorite NFL team's jersey and enjoy a "tailgate" menu from the auction's cafeteria. Buyers and Sellers will also be entered to win a Big Green Egg Grill at the end of the sale with every vehicle bought or sold.


COME ON DOWN to Indiana Auto Auction

Whether fans of old-school Bob Barker, or new-age Drew Carrey, dealers are urged to join Indiana Auto Auction for its Price is Right Contest, running through February 14th. For the Early Bird contest, four lucky dealers are drawn, and they must try to guess the price that one pf the vehicles sold for in the Indiana Auto Auction lanes, of course without going over. The dealer whose guess is closest to the sale amount plays Plinko for a chance to win up to $1,000.

After the sale it over, the auction's Late Bird Game consists of three dealers drawn from entry tickets for vehicles that are bought or sold for the day. Those dealers spin the auction's Price is Right prize wheel that has different amounts of cents in each slot. The dealer that wins is the dealer who gets the closest to $1. A dealer getting $1 in one spin or a combination of two spins win $1,000. All of the winning dealers from the duration of the promotion will show up again on February 14th as they spin to win $5,000 Absolute CASH.

Louisiana's 1st Choice Auto Auction eagerly presents its sixth annual Rockin' Mardi Gras Event on February 26th, 2019. Just like every Tuesday the cars will start rolling at 8:45am. However, this sale will feature more than 800 vehicles, Creole and Cajun food, and king cake galore. Following the sale, Louisiana's 1st Choice Auto Auction will host its Rockin' Mardi Gras party at the iconic House of Blues in New Orleans. Back by popular demand, the band Karma will provide the entertainment and will, no doubt, have everyone dancing and singing along.
